About

Veroníca Vetrilă is a multidisciplinary artist, performer, butoh dancer and costume designer born in Moldova and based in Italy.

Passionate about art from an early age and inclined to seek beauty in various forms, she began painting, hand crafting and playing with different techniques, from classical drawing to illustration, photography and creative sewing. She completed her high school studies in the artistic field and later graduated in Fashion and Textile design at NABA Milan in 2013. She dedicated about a decade to work in the fashion industry collaborating with stylist, magazines, renowned brands, showrooms, but meanwhile a vivid interest for dance and performance art ignited and she changed the path.

From 2017 she is exploring the movement principles in relation to the physical and emotional body thanks to the masters:

Kea Tonetti, Tivitavi, Atsushi Takenouchi, Marek Jason Isleib, Imre Thormann, Joan Laage and still studying and researching with others.

She has been part of the companies Magma Butoh and CompagniaKha, and later directed and choreographed her own projects, participating at international festivals in Berlin, Belgrade and Wien.

Her artistic research stems from the need to find the authentic body, searching for the friction between life and death, the origin of the movement juxtaposed to the periphery of the body and the vibrational state of being.

The edge as a possibility to expand and evoke inner landscapes.

How far can I go? What is moving me? What happens if i stay?

The Stillness, the Space-in-Between, the Edge are the themes that inspire her at the moment.
